Everything about the plot is truly insane and a thinly-veiled metaphor, if you think about it. I was really young when the movie came out and I loved it as a kid. Looking back, I feel violated for even having enjoyed the movie. Disney making millions from unsuspecting parents and their easily-entertained children.
The fact that the “monsters” (demons) entire city is powered by children’s screams… Could the allegory be any more obvious? And that’s just scratching the surface, not even getting into detail about the plot and symbolism… Including the fact that the logo for the Monsters, Inc company is an M with one eye. Hello!!
