I remember learning decades ago that aspartame turns into formaldehyde in our bodies. I believe the FDA has changed its name several times since then.

Toxicity under a different name

Perhaps they changed it because so many people are obsessed with “eating protein” which is associated with the word “aminos.” This despite the fact that “protein” is not a food but a macro-nutrient (along with fats and carbohydrates). The guv started showing “protein” as an image of a cartoon “healthy” meal called ChooseMyPlate. I wrote about it here (copy the link and paste it into your browser to access):

You can even download the entire PDF of my research article. Hopefully, it hasn’t been manipulated!

Also “sweet” will just reel them in.

This is an old story but I think it’s useful to remind folk given the use of “amino.”

Check this out. I love how they make it sound so beneficial.

AMINOSWEET® ASPARTAME
AMINOSWEET® ASPARTAME is a low-calorie sweetener made from two amino acids — the building blocks of proteins — just like those found naturally in everyday foods such a milk, cheese, meat, eggs and fish. It is digested by the body exactly the same way as these other protein foods, which means aspartame brings nothing new to the body. Due to its sugar-like taste and no lingering or metallic after-taste, it is an excellent low-calorie sweetener perfect for developing zero or low-calorie food and beverages. Plus, aspartame is tooth- and diabetic-friendly because it is made from parts of protein rather than carbohydrates. With governments worldwide encouraging the public to reduce their sugar intake, aspartame’s role in our diets is increasingly important.

Approved in more than 135 countries, and by leading regulatory authorities including:
• World Heath Organization (WHO)
• United States Food & Drug Administration (FDA)
• European Food Safety Authority (EFSA)
• Joint Expert Committee on Food Additives (JECFA)

COST EFFECTIVE
Due to its sugar-like qualities, aspartame provides the same taste as sugar at a much lower cost.

That’s Bs. And just because it has the stamp of approval by the WH0 ,FDA ,EFSA,JECFA,or it’s approval in 135 countries, doesn’t mean that it is safe for consumption.

I thought it was all the Republican that didn’t care about healthy food and that it was vegan woke people that cared about this kind of stuff. Very confusing.

Political preference doesn’t dictate how we feel about what we put in our bodies. I was liberal in college and I’ve been conservative for years. I have said aspartame is a neurotoxin since it came out. It just shows what the govt thinks of us that the FDA approves this garbage.
