French Family Allowance Backtracks on Funding Transgender Children (www.msn.com)

The French Family Allowance organization (CAF) has removed an article from its website that had sparked controversy for providing advice to parents on how to “properly support” a transgender child without seeking proper medical advice. The article was accused by a collective of doctors, psychologists, and child and adolescent specialists, as well as intellectuals and academics, of promoting a political agenda that relied solely on activists’ narratives.

The collective of critics had published a statement in the French newspaper Le Figaro, requesting the Minister of Health to remove the CAF’s article because of its “shortcomings” and “partiality.” The association Juristes pour l’Enfance had also sent two registered letters to the CAF to request the withdrawal of the article. The CAF eventually removed the article from its website.
