Well, he did choose to accept millions of dollars in exchange for a role dismembering women with a chainsaw in a movie, so we can’t say there weren’t red flags.
That all may be true (and I know that many actors are into Satan or the occult, maybe Bale too or maybe not). But his comment was most definitely a joke saying Satan inspired the character/nature of Cheney, and definitely was not Bale indicating he himself was truly (non-jokingly) thanking Satan or that Satan was an inspiration to him (Bale) personally. Again, it was a joke about Satan being an inspiration for the character of Cheney. This post is making a misstatement in omitting that key part. Probably an honest mistake, but it should be corrected. Truth is paramount. There are too many horrific things occurring that are not adequately exposed for us to spend time focusing on lesser things like this and embellishing them.

I fully understood that Christian Bale was hinting through his “joke” that Cheney was evil and so “thanked satan” for inspiration.
My view upon watching:
1) There is nothing funny where satan is concerned.
2) I would also never give satan credit for any of my achievements – I would always choose to thank God.
That’s a joke bc Cheney is evil, he’s not actually thanking satan. Actually quite funny.
