Think of the amount of brainwashing that has been done in order to make some people actually support that kind of grotesque meeting with a literal pedo.

Interesting how the video they’re showing of the drag queen cannot be found anywhere now… it proves the drag queen is no “role model” at all and should not be around kids. There’s a sick agenda behind all of this. That lifestyle is ridden with depravity, drugs, sexual immorality, you name it. And introducing kids to that is abuse.
I do wish the people crashing this event would’ve handled it better, though. Exposing the truth can be done without the name calling. Doesn’t help the cause unfortunately.

I am a moderate progressive, and I think Drag Queen Story Hour is a bad idea. It seems designed just to wind up conservatives, further polarizing America, rather than providing any possible benefit to children. I don’t care if grownups want to be involved in drag, but it’s not appropriate for kids due to the sexual content and overtones. And why continue to push something when you know it upsets people so much? A lot of progressives demonize conservatives and see themselves as the good guys but taking the culture war to children is definitely not a good guy move no matter what side it comes from. And it’s Conspiracy Theory 101 that when an idea seems to suddenly come out of nowhere and is instantly everywhere, like drag queens in children’s entertainment, there is some kind of coordinated effort behind it, not an organic grass roots movement.
Watching the actual video of what occurred, and then the video of what’s been presented about it in the news, is very enlightening. The news anchor uses many techniques of manipulation that any psych 101 student would immediately recognize, such as saying the men “might be” part of the Proud Boys (no indication of that being true) and that the “performer” was “afraid” they might be armed and violent (they were NOT). If the good vs bad side were truly so stark, why only present one side? Why use fear-mongering tactics? Wouldn’t be necessary. Why aren’t people upset about that?
I agree with you, the coverage was slanted. And if the drag queen thought that they were in a vulnerable position, well, then why push it by continuing to have these events? They are clearly a hot button issue for a lot of people. I want kids to be safe, and I also don’t want anyone to be gay bashed, either. It would be kinder to everyone to just let it go.
Precisely. It’s just a bad mismatch ~ small children + cross-dressers. They’re not clowns, fer crissakes. Drag performances are for the *adults* who find that entertaining. If you’re an adult and that’s your bag, fine, have at ~ this is America. But keep it in the nightclubs, with a bouncer who checks ID’s. Please. I mean, what’s next ~ prostitutes at the mall passing out Halloween candy to toddlers? Just ~ no. Consenting adults, do your thing . But there’s no need to expose small children to explicit sexual deviance (I don’t mean that in an offensive way) that they are unprepared to process, until they are more like 15-16 or so.
