BTW, this does not guarantee that we won’t have very sinful popes (we have!), or unholy ANTIpopes sometimes (we have!) who occupy the chair of Peter — i.e., false popes who occupy the office of pope — for a time. What is guaranteed in the Church is that the dogmatic **teachings**, the serious doctrines, will never be changed by a true pope.
Many faithful Catholics think that Pope Francis and now Pope Leo XIV are both antipopes — false popes. It will either get straightened out in the next few years or we’ll go through the tribulation & antichrist period (yikes!), and then it will get straightened out.
