I mean if you were gonna point this out, it seems like a glaring omission to not mention that the primary antagonist is a literal giant, flaming, disembodied eye.
I mentioned this one because I hadn’t noticed it before. But you’re definitely right about the eye.
Gollum was absolutely never not going to “betray” them, anyway. It was obvious who he was and what he wanted from the start.
