My first thoughts on this was that this girl was tooled up. Now there may have been a reason she felt the need to do this I.e a run in previously with this same group – but you are not allowed to carry offensive weapons in this country and they’ll put her in juvenile detention for this unless she can prove she really was at risk. It struck me the other girl was trying to stop her stacking them.
The girls that fall prey to these gangs are picked out as working class from parents who don’t know where they are and probably don’t care. All I know is that my kid was not walking around shouting and brandishing serious weaponry at that age. So this does tell me that she likely has a background where she is at risk BUT as a defenseless child – she may have identified this response as an option if she has come across these men before and feels at risk.
The thing bothering me is that child rapists rarely film it and out it on social media if they intend to groom her. So I have a feeling this was not the case- although in filming a child this may provide further info on their intent. It’s also notable that unlike other kids her face has not been shielded.
