I was shopping recently and “Abracadabra” started playing inside the store. It really made me uncomfortable. I don’t want to be chanted to when I’m picking some oranges.
I don’t want any of that in my mind or my subconsciousness. That song is especially bad IMO. It’s so in your face.
I use earplugs in these situations, I carry them in my pocket all the time.
I recently heard some song being played in Belk saying ‘get your booster shot’ over and over and over again and then it insulted everyone who hadn’t received a booster shot. This was just a month or two ago. At first, I thought it was advertising but then I realized it was a full r&b song. Another song I heard being played in TJMax said ‘just give up’ over and over again for like 5 mins straight. It sounded low and hypnotic a lot like that song that Travis Scott was singing as 10 dead people were carried out of his concert. The song was so unnerving that I walked out without buying anything. I think most of us just aren’t aware of all the programming going on around us.

In my country, Russia, it is not so ubiquitous… at least for now. It’s mostly russian pop (songs about happy / unhappy love life), very generic, not even memorable. They don’t put western music on too often. And I hope people who don’t speak english are not affected that much by this. But still, sometimes it gets to me. I also hated it when they used to play Poppy in the mall.

Yes we have great powerful music in Russia, but our modern pop music is not good.
On the plus side, it’s not demonic. It’s just a giant collection of “I love you so much” and “I suffer so much without you”.

Well yes she was a weird youtuber and then became a singer iirc.
She was famous for her weird robotic doll-looking image. Idk if she changed her image now.
She had some good tracks, I thought her cover on “My kind of woman” was genuinely cute. But a lot of her later stuff is in the creepy brain-programming category. I guess her handler tightened their grip on her as the years went by.

I heard it in the US. I am thinking that the some artists are specifically being paid to sing propaganda songs. I like to go shopping to get away from the propaganda on the tv and internet but now I just see and hear it everywhere.
