The original author of the book that inspired the movie and broadway musical is a gay Catholic.

I grew up in a progressive enough circle that the consideration of any kind of sexuality, even straight sexuality, was presented as a potential gift. It could also be a potential temptation, but it was a potential gift. And so you would have to use the tools of faith to slowly and carefully separate those segments that might harm you from those segments that might nourish you, and to braid for yourself a way to be in the world that neither denies your inclination toward faith nor your inclination toward love — which, after all, are very close.
Maguire says Elphaba wants, more than anything else, to do no harm to the world. Yet she is twisted by the fear she strikes in other people’s hearts.
How did that lead to Elphaba? I remember getting twisted by what I thought to be contrary impulses. That led me to the story of a person who has the same impulses. Elphaba wants, more than anything else, to do no harm to the world and indeed to assist it as a kind of missionary daughter, really. And yet she is twisted by the way she’s looked at, by the fear she strikes in other people’s hearts. She has a hard time trying to braid herself into a self-loving, effective minister of good.

Moral of the story: Good can be bad and bad can also be good.
Translation:
Embrace both (good and evil) as to align the karmic balance and be ONE with nature. To do evil is a natural urge and we must embrace it, but dont forget to do good or “what comes around may come around.”

The father of ‘Wicked’ is a gay Catholic
So this website is against Catholic people now too? Half of all Americans were raised catholic.
There is no such thing as an “out & proud” gay practicing Catholic… they may be Catholic by baptism, but they’re not even attempting to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ to the Catholic Church, as given through the Apostles then through the Early Church Fathers.
See the writings of the Church Fathers at https://www.newadvent.org/fathers/ or read more about them at the outstanding website Eternal Christendom https://eternalchristendom.com/becoming-catholic/articles/.
Catholic teaching can be found in the Catechism of the Catholic Church at https://scborromeo2.org/catechism-of-the-catholic-church
May God bless and guide you & your loved ones!
Antonia,
Could you please STOP your annoying preaching about “glories” of catho faith which is responsible for murder of innumerable natives in North and South America , can you ??
For promoting fake pandemic !!
For cooperating with NWO !
For diabolical occult popes !
Real Jesus is ashamed of such a church of a poison mind, full of gays, occultists, atheists, meat eaters, church with fabricated dogmas like “eternal hell” to keep sheeple in fear..
They are only few good things there, like general belief in God, piousness,
but nowadays almost no philosophy.. almost all inverted, distorted, infiltrated by jewish propaganda like Old Test.
Can you wake up ??
The communist-globalist-homosexualist NWO leaders in the Catholic Church, many of whom are likely satanists, are the weeds sown amongst the wheat. Protestants have them, too, mixed in as leaders among their innumerable denominations … the fraudsters, liars, greedy televangelists, sexual offenders, globalist-homosexualist wokesters, NWO promoters, etc. Many of them are occultists/satanists as well.
People of good will do not count the *inevitable* Judases among the sincere faithful, even in an opposing Christian community that they deem heretical. We have to look at the doctrines & teachings lived out, though imperfectly, by those who truly adhere to the religion in question.
Matthew 13:24-30
Another parable he put before them, saying, “The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a man who sowed good seed in his field; but while men were sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and went away.
So when the plants came up and bore grain, then the weeds appeared also. And the servants of the householder came and said to him, ‘Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then has it weeds?’
He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’ The servants said to him, ‘Then do you want us to go and gather them?’
But he said, ‘No; lest in gathering the weeds you root up the wheat along with them.
Let both grow together until the harvest; and at harvest time I will tell the reapers, Gather the weeds first and bind them in bundles to be burned, but gather the wheat into my barn.'”
>meat eaters
I don’t remember anything in the Bible that bans eating meat altogether. I know that there are instructions on meat preparation (that’s how Jews got their kosher laws and Muslims got halal) and that pigs are unclean animals. The bit about pigs is true, they like rolling around in mud and they will eat literally anything so farmers have to be very careful when feeding them. Pigs are quite prone to parasites (that’s why you need to get the meat checked at a vet when you slaughter them and all meat in general needs to be cooked well) and food spoils easily in warmer climates, such as the Middle East. It was simply easier to not eat pork in the past and that’s completely fine.
Other than that I don’t remember there being any bans on eating meat completely. There are some restrictions and warnings, but no outright bans – as far as I remember.
So if there is anything, please do point it out. I’m planning to start rereading the Bible again and this might prove useful.
And if by meat eaters you mean the whole transubstantiation ordeal, then that’s a whole other can of worms. I never liked the idea of eating the flesh of other humans, let alone eating the flesh of a divine being. It just feels wrong. I think that Communion was meant to be a remembrance of the Last Supper and a reminder of what Jesus did for us, not something resembling cannibalism.
Consuming the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist (which every Christian believed in for 1,500-plus years) is not cannibalism. The Catholic Eucharist is a mystery and a miracle, not like other substances. In the Mass, the bread and wine are miraculously transformed into the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Jesus, while the appearances of bread and wine stay the same. This is why Catholic cathedrals and churches are built so beautifully — to reverently house Jesus in His Real Presence.
The sacrament (which means “mystery”) of the Holy Eucharist is Jesus’s way of placing Himself inside of us physically, for a certain amount of time (until the appearances of bread & wine break apart), and spiritually forever, to increase His grace in us by the sacrament.
In the Catholic Mass, we do not “re-crucify Christ” as some have said. Instead, we are spiritually *transported* to the foot of the Cross where Jesus was crucified in AD 33.
Here’s a summary of the difference between cannibalism and receiving the Eucharist (from catholic [DOT] com/qa/is-receiving-the-eucharist-cannibalism): “Cannibals consume the flesh of a dead person [that they’ve killed] in a way that diminishes and profanes the corpse. Through the sacrament of the Eucharist, Jesus freely gives Himself to us; and we consume His living Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity in a way that mysteriously and miraculously does not diminish Him but instead enhances our spiritual life.”
Thank you for the explanation. I wish someone had explained this to me better in the past, but at least I understand this better now.
“Broken and distributed is the Lamb of God; broken, but never divided; ever eaten, yet never consumed, but hallowing those who partake”
…this is something one will understand being of the Church, True Apostolic Church, or at least searching Truth with honesty and humility. As an orthodox I assure you it has nothing to do with cannibalism or luciferianism some unknowingly or purposely insist. Christ is in the Holy Liturgy, in the Holy Apostolic Tradition, in His Holy Mysteries. So, yes, Christ is in the St. Eucharist. “I am the living bread which came down from heaven; if anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread which I shall give for the life of the world is my flesh” (Jn 6.51).
Thus, the bread of the eucharist is Christ’s flesh, and Christ’s flesh is the eucharistic bread. The same with Christ’s blood. It is the “unbloody” sacrifice – Christ with us, in us. It is union and communion. Through this sacred mystery – the Eucharist – we, the christians, join ourselves to His body and become one with Him.
Holy Eucharist is closely tied to another sacred mystery – the Confession of the sins. One cannot have Eucharist without Confession. Why? Because we are supposed to become resposable, repent, suffer for our sins, ,,bury,, the old selves and commited to being true christians, better christians.
“Basing itself on Sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity, tradition has always declared that ‘homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered.’ They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity. Under no circumstances can they be approved.” (§2357, Catechism of the Catholic Church)
One of the more remarkable things about the Catholic Church is how consistent the theology has remained despite the thorough communist and Satanist infiltration.
It does make sense, rick! The sense is that there is no sense at all. “Gay” and “catholic” simply don’t match! The Catholic Church (the real one) is not inclusive in terms of “hey, let us accept gays and trans and pedophiles, too. The Scripture isn’t actually saying what it’s saying”…
Hey Rumunescu.. high brass of vatican is infiltrated by gays to very high and scaring degree for long time, never heard about it ?
( and local branches in every other country as well, heeloo ?!? )
Not to speak about occultism in Vatican.. and this is connected.
The real one church was during first years of Jesus, now this is only drying up branch, and dying off, what to speak about orthodox.
They are expiring !
So for long time there is no real catho church, and btw there is some very interesting research that Catho church is not Christian !!
Catholic is more like protestant church..
But of course you do not know yet or you prefer not to ?
@Frank,
I am very aware that satanists and predators infiltrated in the Catholic Church. In a much smaller degree they are in the Orthodox Church as well. Nobody is questioning that! But their infiltration didn.t cause (at least in orthodoxy) the changing of the dogmatic tradition. And even in the C.C the devouted follow the faith, not the ,,reforms,, – this is why you will meet a lot of catholics that reject the pope due to his innovations.
You can find these infiltrators among buddhists, in hinduism, islam/ism as well. You can find them in politics, sports, in the educational system, in the medical system. You can find them in any country on this globe and their sole purpose is to pervert and prey upon people, to destroy. What they all have in common, whether they have officially adhered to what is known as satanism is their practice – you know them by their fruit.
True faith has lasted and became even more obvious in spite of these infiltrations. It has never been easier to see who is what!
You choose to focus on the bad trees, I choose to see the good ones. God preserved the true teachings unaltered through the faithful ones – and you can find them in every century up until the Early Church (martyrs, theologians, historians of the Church, hermits..). That is the beauty of tradition!
You say expiring. I see it flourishing, extending. In Japan, India, America, Iran (over a million convertees lately – in a state known for persecution). Light cannot be hidden!
Amen!
That is why I said ,,The Catholic Church (the real one),,
HMM I think he is from the catholic family ?
