Yesterday, Anthropologie posted a new promotional video to their IG account, featuring a tall, bald male ballet dancer in 3 of their new spring dresses. As he twirls around, the camera shows that one of the dresses won’t even zip up over his broad back, and we are treated to multiple flashes of his very male bulge in white underwear.
The backlash was so big that they deleted and closed all comments on the post within hours. However, the post is still up, and hundreds of women have responded via comments in their subsequent IG posts. Only about 5% of the responses are positive, cheering on Anthropologie’s “inclusivity”, while the whopping majority are from women who feel offended, erased, and silenced by both the video ad and Anthropologie’s choice to shut down all responses.
URBN owns several brands, including Anthropologie as well as Urban Outfitters, Bhldn/Anthropologie Weddings, Free People, Terrain, Menus and Venues, and Nuuly.
Ugh. Men in dresses disgust me.
@Daughter_of_Dust ~ Right? Definitely does NOT inspire me to want to pull out my credit card and get one of those dresses for myself.
Their clothes are ugly and too expensive. You have to be some kind of an idiot to buy it.
@Disappointed not surprised ~ Definitely. They’ve been struggling financially for years, because the company has not successfully found their target market. The clothes are too expensive for a middle-class market, but not well-made enough for an affluent market. And, frankly, rather boring, from a fashion sense, imo. Still, this does NOT seem to be a move in the right direction, as they definitely don’t seem like a “drag queen” market, either! 😖😆
Men in Dresses = 🤮🤮🤮
Let men be men, meaning wearing clothes that men wear.. Quit the ridiculous feminizing ad nauseum.
@Suprashep ~ Couldn’t agree more. Anthropologie doesn’t even sell men’s clothing.
Hey, it’s one thing if a random male child or adult decides they want to dress like a woman once or twice or even frequently. But when such transgendering is broadcast through all the major media, as it currently is, we can call it an agenda. Which it totally is:
The “Cosmic Androgyne” is the ultimate goal of the Luciferian religion to bring male and female into the same body — obviously for enslavement purposes with the general populace. And they are ramping up their mind-control campaign, fast and hard.
But beside the obvious wokeism etc etc, how should a woman with imperfect features (overweight, for example) feel like, seeing a dress looks better on a man than on herself? One could accept that a (female) model looks better, but…a man?
For me this is a very poor marketing strategy…
And also, are these products designed for men or for women? I guess for women, so why don’t they show how they actually look on a female body? (rhetorical question, I know the dude in the video that day probably felt like a woman, so that obviously cancelled any anatomical difference, silly me)
@Pelargonia ~ I agree with you! It is very difficult, as a woman, to picture myself wearing a dress that is modeled by a man.
It’s hard enough to determine online purchases when all the female models are under age 25 and barely 100lbs, which is not the figure most of us are working with. But seeing a woman’s outfit on a man? That just confuses my brain and makes the outfit itself unattractive to me.
That is definitely NOT a smart selling point for a company like Anthropologie, which doesn’t even sell men’s clothing! Their target market is women, age 30-40, with a slightly “bohemian” style and significant free spending money.
Another pervy company who can be cancelled.
@marie ~ Definitely! That’s why I listed their other brands, as well. I don’t shop at Anthropologie, bit too pricey for my budget, but I did get my wedding shoes, silk scarf, and both of my bridesmaids’ dresses from Bhldn, a few years ago, before it merged with them. Now they’re all on my “nope” list, along with Nike, Ulta, Maybelline, and (*sniff!*) Kate Spade.
Kate space was murdered so she won’t cry about that. Don’t forget to skip Legos for the kids. It would be good to have an update every so often on all the companies trying to push madness onto everyone in society so they can putter out.
P. S.
I read they want to jail people for misgendering. (if the costume was good enough they wouldn’t have to worry though.)
P. S. S.
On a side note since I can’t post any articles, it’s interesting to note they can now kill kids in the Netherlands up to age 12 as post abortion or medical assisted suicide.
Genesis 3:15a: “I will put enmity between you [the serpant] and the woman…”
The Enemy hates women because they can do what he cannot: reproduce. He wants to destroy women so that God loses.
