On a 2019 episode of ‘Comedian In Cars Getting Coffee’ Eddie Murphy tells Jerry Seinfeld that Sammy Davis Junior tried to convert him to Satan worship.
He tells a story where he was invited to an exclusive LA bar by Sammy Davis Jr and that Davis was a Satan worshipper then proceeds to tell him once there at the restaurant that the devil was as powerful as God and that was the reason for all the killing and violence in the world. Jerry laughs at the crazy story, but they don’t go any further into it. Not surprised.
I think they like telling the story how they were first taken in by satan – maybe it is part of the pact. It helps their career if they let out the truth of the matter.
It reminds me of an interview where the comic Bert Kreischer told the ‘fictitious’ story about his struggling years trying to make a name for himself when he was approached by Will Smith. Smith asked him to meet with him and his 10 friends – all large black men.
Kreischer tells how he had a phone conversation with his dad before the meeting in which they joke about it being a meeting about being anally raped by all of them. He jokes his dad told him he had to do it.
Kreischer gave details about the meeting, about the room and the large men all standing around him in a circle. He ended the story that Smith asked to meet with him again after this event but Bert declined. Whatever.
The Russian story ‘The Machine /joke was epic…The movie based on this story comes out on May 23rd.

About the only original show on netflix I really enjoyed. No agendas but always funny and interesting.
Jerry knows satan very well.

Notice just after the 2-minute mark Jerry gives Murphy a strong non-verbal cue with his elbow when the story ceases to be “funny.”
