This is not paranoia and it is not science fiction. Systems now exist that capture electrical signals directly from the brain and convert them into data. Yeah, like what if you’re working on a horror movie? Are they going to think that you’re thinking these things for real? Do the algorithms consider context?
A much darker application for this patent came to my mind as I was reading it… I don’t know what the algorithms would consider, but it wouldn’t be unreasonable to assume that it could be modified – it’s still software at the end of the day.
