You know I had a strange realization about this when I watched a Youtuber play a game called Fatal Frame.
In that game, there’s like a tradition of sacrificing a woman every 10 years (by literally tearing her body apart) in order to soak the ropes that hold the gates of Hell with her blood and thus seal them.
And the girl has to live all those 10 years in a monastery-like place, preparing herself for the ultimate sacrifice.
And at first the whole thing made me SO uncomfortable.
But the more I thought about it… the more I realised I would’ve done it.
I would have agreed. If I knew that my one death would save everybody else, it’s an easy choice.
Many people in real life sacrifice themselves without any guarantee that their sacrifice even means anything. So to know 100% your death will be a salvation for others is a great gift. I would have done it.
It’s definitely not an easy choice to make nor prepare yourself for. Prophecy is fulfilled through deed, and there’s an element of suicidal to that thought process but in turn also make one appreciate Value and see the little things in life for what they are. I was 16 when I was first hit with the revelation of what sacrifice truly meant, I for one, if I knew what I had to endure and would end up at this juncture in my life, I can’t say with conviction I would do it all over again. It truly hasn’t been worth it if one reaps what the sow.
The thing is, living is so much harder than dying. Dying is easy. Scary but easy, and also gets less scary the older you get. To give up your life is easier than to live and suffer.
Or maybe it’s because I am indeed very interested in death, but I really do see it that way.
Also at some point I was very into drug-related subreddits and discovered a sub dedicated to benadryl. Which is a deliriant and causes horrific nightmares. Yet people get addicted to those nightmares, because they stop existing as people and get to escape somewhere else. There’s even a whole lore about it. How bad one’s existence must be that they find comfort and refuge in terrifying de-personalisation.
So yeah.. I get it.
It should be the opposite. Life should be easy and death should be difficult. But we live in an inverted evil world. I have been reading and commenting on the Vigilant Citizen website since shortly after it started in 2008. I just submitted my final comment there yesterday, on the article VC wrote about this commercial. Less than a month ago, he wrote another article taking a principled stand about the Epstein files scandal enveloping the Trump administration. The Sweeney article is very different than that. Apparently Monarch beta kitten programming and eugenics are ok now, because Sydney Sweeney is hot, or something. And they are ok if the commercial is something conservatives like.
