A Roblox cult called Spawnism is reportedly causing kids to seriously harm themselves. (notthebee.com)

If you have children, you’ve probably heard of Roblox; it’s like Youtube but for video games. Anyone can post games built on the system.

What do you think?

My son told me about this! He said that they’ve turned “spawning” into a type being. When a player dies in a videogame they “respawn” in a designated area, so these kids (or whomever) have turned the concept of being “born again” in a video game into an idol of worship. The design for the “being” that is known as the spawning looks like a stylized sun. Go figure. People will believe in and worship anything but the real God of the Bible.

Respawning is a standard mechanic in videogames because it allows you to try again if you make a mistake. Some games have a story that justifies having that mechanic (eg. alternate universes, advanced technology, time loops, etc.).
There are very few games that have a “permadeath” mode because of high stakes that can easily become frustrating for the player. If that option is included, it’s most often optional. For example, Minecraft has an optional hardcore mode where if you die, your world is gone forever (unless you have a backup save of before you died in game).

The crooked square that forms the first O in Roblox is a Masonic symbol.

And it’s like the one in the LA main library with a dark circle in the center, like a portal. See VC’s Sinister Sites article about that library.
