No More Safe Haven for Privacy? Switzerland Drifts Toward a Surveillance State Due to New Controversial Laws (news.itsfoss.com)

Proposed privacy law changes, if passed in parliament, threaten Switzerland’s reputation as a privacy haven.

Some of the most popular e-mail providers are faced with a law that would nullify their main benefit – privacy.

These kinds of laws are being repeatedly pushed worldwide, I just hope a “mysterious” cyberattack won’t hit Switzerland in the next couple of months. Once laws like this are passed, it’s game over.

Let us hope that the Swiss people will oppose this again and that this law won’t be passed. Even if a false-flag cyberattack happens, I hope that they will be able to see through the lies.

What do you think?

I wonder how many of the supposedly private e-mail providers are actually private.

I use protonmail but have never believed it’s nearly as private as it claims to be because where the rotting carcasses of “the elite” gather cannot possibly be what it says it is.

I make the presumption – none.

There has been a marked reduction in sm use in the last year. This will only increase as this all comes in. We have to prove we don’t need it.
