How do we reconcile the idea that the 666 sign has also been taught to generations of Americans as the sign for “okay”? Are there famous people merely signaling OK in photos that we are attributing to 666?

BTW, I’m not AT ALL downplaying the heavy, even extreme influence of satanists & occultists in our culture for thousands of years, especially in pagan times (all the “gods of the gentiles are devils” Psalm 96:5) and in modern times.

I’m just trying to make sure we’re not overgeneralizing.

I think your right. The conspiracy rabbithole can take over and devour the host (probably also by design) so the sufferer then sees everything as evil and demonic. And like you, i agree that there are evil dark powerful forces at work on this earth, but sometimes we need to chill out, enjoy our families, friends, food and drink and give thanks to God.

Good point, thank you! I haven’t seen this distinction or the 666 sign done this way (3 fingers separated) before. I’ll be on the lookout for it now.

Poor deaf people, their whole language is based on throwing up signs!

How many people do you know in ordinary life who go around making OK signs, devil horns, one eye and peace signs? And how many entertainers do you see photos of doing those?

Yes, very true! I was thinking of that myself… that I don’t think I’ve *ever* made the OK sign in a photo. Maybe a thumbs-up sign, but not the OK sign. And you see the OK/666 sign quite frequently in photos of the powerful, rich, & famous.

Like many symbols, it doesn’t indicate occultism with certainty, but it does throw up a red flag.

Please disregard my comment above. I was editing it and then I couldn’t save my changes any longer. Here is my comment as I meant it to read…

Yes, very true! I don’t think I’ve *ever* made the OK sign in a photo (and never a one-eye sign). Maybe a thumbs-up sign, but not the OK sign. You do see the innocent public doing the OK sign in general (not usually in photos).

University of Texas Longhorns fans often do what looks like the “devil’s horns,” but that’s their symbol for longhorn cattle. I think many regular fans of rock music do it as well because they think it’s just a sign for that music and edgy lifestyle. Peace signs are fairly frequent I think among the innocent general public.

You see the OK/666 sign and the other occult symbols quite frequently in photos of the powerful, rich, & famous.

Like many symbols, these signs don’t indicate occultism with certainty, but they do throw up a red flag.

I want to bring up an idea that has some nuance, so please bear with me…

In the Catholic Church (and all Christianity up to modern times), we recognize the serious sins of detraction and calumny. Detraction is “the unjust damaging of another’s good name by the revelation of some fault or crime of which that other IS really guilty, or at any rate is seriously believed to be guilty by the defamer.” It would be unjust to reveal even a true fault if there is **no good reason** to do so.

Calumny is “the unjust damaging of the good name of another by imputing to him a crime or fault of which he is NOT guilty.” In other words, calumny is lying and making up faults to defame a person.

I’m not saying that showing these celebrities with their possibly shady signals is either detraction or calumny. On the contrary, I think showing the famous & powerful doing these possibly-satanic signs is important and fair! The general public should know that many of the people governing them, entertaining them, and setting institutional & global agendas are occultists with a dangerous, satanic, ulterior motive for their actions in society.

However, I guess I would be more cautious about attributing the occult signs, or occult religious beliefs, to many of them **with certainty**, especially in individual cases. Some celebrities could have told by managers or photographers to flash the sign. There could be other circumstances, like mind control, that absolve the celebrity of guilt. True, many of them may have done immoral things and become involved in satanic rituals to become famous… but perhaps not all of them.

In the Catholic Church, detraction & calumny are considered to be very serious, even sometimes grave sins, that can lead the detractor/calumniator to hell. These sins have been recognized in all of Christendom up to very recent times.

Sorry for the long post, but I thought since discussing possible faults/moral crimes (satanism, p*dophilia, etc.) of famous figures is something “truthers” do frequently, that serious Christians here might be interested in a couple of pitfalls we should try to avoid ourselves.

[Note: None of this is specific to Fats Domino or any particular celebrity. I was just making a general point on this post because I happened to be thinking about it.]

Hope this is helpful to any VC readers. May God bless and guide you & your loved ones in these turbulent times.

Louis Armstrong, another prominent New Orleans musician, was a Freemason. I bet Fats was, too.
