When the Macrons moved into the French Presidential Elysée Palace in May 2017, they were intent on modernizing its classic French décor by incorporating ‘contemporary’ artwork pieces that would reflect their globalized, timeless, boundaryless vision of the world.
One of the best examples to be found is at the Salon Cléopâtre (Cleopatra Room) which used to prominently feature a classic tapestry depicting the romanticized meeting between Queen of Egypt Cleopatra and Roman ruler Antony.
Paris is known worldwide as a City of Culture and one would expect the Elysée Palace to be a cultural beacon. Yet nowadays, instead of contemplating the classic tapestry which for centuries took pride of place in the Cleopatra Room, foreign dignitaries and other high-ranking visitors will be faced with a puzzling giant abstract painting by French artist Yves Oppenheim. Cleopatra be gone, please welcome a giant mindless scribble, which the Elysée Palace proudly defends:
Today, instead of the love-struck Roman Triumvir and Egyptian Queen, visitors contemplate a tapestry designed by Yves Oppenheim, made up of no less than 173 colours.
The Macrons taste in Art might not be to everyone’s liking but, as beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so is Art!
Here is what the original classic tapestry looked like:

Well Brigitte is a post modernist man.
🤣 a good one, Rosey!
But hey, there’s also place for the whole collection!
At least we know who painted the originals!
Done on purpose for the kalergi plan to eliminate races starting with Europeans. Look at the features, they can’t have the truth shoved into the faces of those who are to breed and kill off the current population. It’s a new old type of biological warfare that people are just allowing.
