I might sound controvercial for the people here, but I’d much rather prefer a secular government that will not put on display any religion or “religion” whatsoever.

It’s just not the place.

That’s the whole point. You are not meant to have ANY religion in government. Unless they’re being sworn in. Now they are flexing their true religion and people think it’s a joke

I agree with you. The secular government by law has to serve everyone equally. When one religion pushes into that space, they have to allow any and all of them to do so. I think it’s a case where Christians should follow the advice of Jesus when he said “Render unto Caesar those things that are Caesar’s and render unto God those things that are God’s.”

People are blaming Tim Walz for this but his hands are tied. He swore to uphold the Constitution and this is covered under it.

Precisely. Government has to serve all people equally, providing them with an unbiased neutral legal playing field.

Otherwise it turns into picking preferences or giving a platform to a circus.

I’m russian and it makes me mad when Russian Orthodox Church gets its hands into politics. Or God forbid lawmaking of any kind. It’s always awful and cringe-inducing. And if it were Islam or Buddhism followers, it would be just as awkward and awful.

The government is just finally showing us the god they trust in.
