I notice more and more people paying in cash and also more common to see people at ATMs.
I think more and more people are realizing at least that digital payment systems aren’t all that reliable and hopefully also that they have no control over them and, again, hopefully who does and who they really are.
In addition to being good for reasons of reliabilty and control, I find I spend less and save more since switching to cash. And that is even with the costs of goods having risen by up to like 30% or so since I switched. With cash in my wallet instead of a debit card I can see more clearly the effects of spending which induces more thriftiness and I also place hard limits on my spending by only bringing or withdrawing whatever I’ve budgeted for purchases and no more. What’s left at the end of the month is saved and so is all change after purchases, including smaller paper money.
Thomas, I agree! Please see my recent comment in which I share a “we don’t accept cash” story that I experienced for the first time!
(My wallet was loaded with cash for the purchase I describe, and the attendant gladly accepted my cash tip for his excellent service, so he obviously isn’t the policy-maker at that venue.)
This INSANITY of young people telling anyone even slightly older than them what is “cool” and what is not is the real problem here. Why TF are grown adults even uttering these words?! These kids are disrespectful. If anyone told me something like this I’d laugh at them and then tell them to learn some respect. More “tolerance” from the agenda police, isn’t it?
They’re mostly probably not saying these things. I think its the “influencers” pushing this stuff.
Many are very planned into the vocabulary
I will make boys their officials; mere children will govern them. People will oppress each other– man against man, neighbor against neighbor.

TikTok is trash. These kids beg for money online and don’t even have more than $1000 in their savings. Broke, blind new world order ready slaves with no knowledge and hardly any intellectual thought of their own. Their opinion on what is cool is invalid. Useless eaters. And none of them are driving a Lamborghini.
Aww, I love butterscotch candies! Why you gotta throw them under the bus!? 😆
I visited a local winery today to support the struggling industry (and add to my nearly empty wine rack). I bought two bottles and handed a wad of cash to the attendant. He put up a hand and said, “We are a card-only business.”
I cringed. I should have asked “why,” but I handed over one of my cards and paid for my purchase.
This is going to be a BIG issue for me. I will NOT BUY from that winery again.
It’s so sad, because we live in a small region where there are LOTS of old-school folks who ONLY deal in cash except for rare instances.
My experience today is a BAD SIGN. But I will prevail!
