I remember being quite young when I saw Blue Lagoon and felt even then it was wrong to make a film about such things as incest and very you people having sex. When I look back now I can see I was absolutely right – even as a child. You have to wonder exactly what was going at this time with the studios making films like Pretty Baby and The Little Girl Who Lives Down the Lane whether this was the first attack on children to “normalise” paedophilia. Although I have to say that poor Shirley Temple was very lucky to escape such things – although I seem to remember a very questionable movie a lot of toddlers were involved in (name escapes me) – they dropped her quite dramatically when she reached her late teens.

I think for a long time I was in the “people are misinterpreting the innocence of the time” position – until I saw this. This is very badly masked paedophilia and really before ST was mega famous. I never watched her movies when I was little despite my gran loving all sorts of old cinema we watched together. It just makes you think “have they always been doing this?”

Saw the recent documentary about Brooke. Take away: if you lie long and loud enough, it seems normal, and lots of people will be lulled. (Both her and her mom kept saying she did these movies because they knew they would be done “tastefully.”)
This nonsense was also aided by the fact the mother (custodial parent) was an alcoholic. Near the end of doc, Brooke’s daughters tell her while they love her, those movies were terribly disrespectful to kids and women.
They tried to say those photos were erased from the internet. I knew they weren’t and when I did my own research a few years ago I found them also.
What utter nonsense. It’s fascinating when they say this – like it could ever be possible. Someone, somewhere would have the original publication.

How blatant can this be? A nude magazine featuring a nude child with make up on. The make up rather confirms their intention to sexualize and prey on her innocense.
This photoshoot reminds me of the infamous Scorpions album cover “Virgin Killer”. The name of the album along with the cover adds an air of discomfort and evil intent. The band to this day maintains they never approved or liked the cover and it was the pressure of an exec in their record label to use it.
