The Biden administration is considering the use of vaccines in poultry as one option to address a bird flu epidemic that has killed millions of chickens and contributed to high egg prices.
“There are a range of options the United States regularly considers when there is any outbreak that could affect the security and safety of the United States’ food supply,” a White House National Security Council spokesperson said in a statement on Monday. “Right now, we are focused on promoting and enhancing high-impact biosafety practices and procedures.”

We keep chickens for eggs. My hubby wants to start keeping more, to process for meat. I didn’t think I could stomach that, but thinking on this is changing my mind.
We started farming chickens and quails this past year. I too was worried about the death part, but after watching a couple commit suicide because they had a damaged wing or the others were hunting them because they had hurt their leg, or being sold violent roosters that were meant to be hens, we soon found ourselves having no choice but to do the deed. We make sure they are calm before so that the cortisol levels are lower and we thank them for their contribution. We found the kill cone the less stressful method for everyone. We have also separated our breeds for meat and eggs as I bond with most of my layers. I’m fact, one will only lay if I sit with her for a while each afternoon, but since she lays a blue egg I really feel rewarded.
We are trying to build as many coops and under cover areas as I can for on this small block of land in preparation for their next pandemic. We also try to keep eggs in an incubator on cycle so that we will always have more if they come take what we have. We also have the worlds smallest chickens which can be kept in cages indoors as they’re very low malt and poo is tiny and not offensive.
We tried building connections with other poultry keepers, but unfortunately, most of the people here in my part of Aus just want to scam you with sick birds or roosters.
I look forward to the day when I can get more land and more animals and have enough available for when everyone else wakes up hungry.
There is no bird flu or epidemic, there’s only mass murder of animals for propaganda. Also that last sentence sounds like it came right out of the corporate bullish-t generator, which, if you’ve never been to before you should get over there right now for some entertainment and to see where the “news” comes from 🤓

True! Whenever it’s about vaccinating and mass-murdering animals because of who knows what virus, people are actually being targeted. It’s a war on people! The dolphins, the chickens, the white wales, the forests, the plants, the bees .. all of them are collaterals. They intend to mass-murder us! No doubt about it! Who is telling otherwise is either trolling, blind, naive or dumb.
