Dystopian move: each Romanian will have their own postal code (www.digi24.ro)

The Romanian Post will implement unique postal codes for each person, which will replace the existing ones, divided geographically, by towns, streets or neighborhoods, announced Valentin Stefan, the general director of the Romanian Post National Company, in an interview on Radio Romania News.

“We are working on implementing one postal code per person. We believe that it is time to take an important digital step and ensure that each person has their own postal code and regardless of where the person in question is, the postman should find them and take the package to them, if they opt for this type of delivery”, declared the director of the Romanian Post Service.

So they can be tracked at all times. I imagine that will be fun for the postman

I live in Romania ,and this Postal Service is the least innovative and slow. Generally it works so bad we joke its the “internet explorer” of postal services. How come they took an initiative is beyond me . They cant even make a basic service work normally

I’m from Romania and I can tell you that @Scripcaru is absolutely right. Most employees of the Romanian Postal Service don’t even know how to use a computer properly, and to send a package requires filling-in about 2-3 forms, usually by hand. I can’t imagine how they can implement this, when they can’t even deliver letters to a basic address.
