'The Weeknd' plays a Los Angeles club owner and cult leader in upcoming HBO music industry series 'The Idol'

Set to stream on HBO Max, the series follows the life of a pop star, played by Lily Rose-Depp, as she falls into a romantic relationship with a Los Angeles club owner and cult leader, played by the Weeknd and was created by ‘Ephoria’ creator Sam Levinson so alot of symbolic occult references and mind control aspects will be present throughout the series no doubt.
