Also fictional. The Church of Satan, if operated in the manner prescribed by LaVey, does not accept the existence of any supernatural or spiritual entity. They are atheists.
Satanism comes in two flavors theistic (actual devil worship) and theatrical atheism. As Kali says this was LaVey’s group which was the latter.

As long as what you believe is anti-God and thereby anti-life then I’m sure you can get away with calling yourself a satanist, just so long as it makes you feel superior.
They have an anti-witness, which means they deny their master publicly. Thus, the greatest trick the devil ever played on man was to convince them he didnāt exist at all.
Satanism is all about loving yourself and seeing yourself as a god. Which explains the rampant narcissism plaguing the worlds young people.

The CoS is actually an atheist society, they believe the power of “god” is oneself. Bodily autonomy,self-love and being a good person without the promise of eternal bliss in heaven or torture in hell are basic tenets. And to be honest I think thats a lot less toxic than many other organised religions.
But, of course, because Satan is in the name many will behave like they’re dreadful baby-sacrificing heinous scary folk.
They have satan in their name because they are satan worshippers.
Like their master they like to deceive. Do not let those dangerous people trick you.
They are not trustworthy. If you would research these people you will find they do many things that are in line with their masters wishes.
Only Jesus is the way.
If you read the 11 Statements as a whole, it’s really all about selfishness. “I want to be a dick to people, so give me a reason to justify it.”
