The issues are supply chain problems and a February recall and shutdown at an Abbott Nutrition plant in Michigan.

I’m really confused about all this. Why are so many people feeding their babies formula?! This is insanity, there should be zero concern about this, not to mention the fact that formula is straight up poison that injures the baby for life just like the vaccines they put in them.
We live in a society that is hostile to breastfeeding. Women report when they try to feed in public people yell at them to cover up or they get lewd about it, and a lot of women can’t pump at work (imagine an Amazon warehouse employee trying to get several pumping breaks a day) so they can’t sustain it.
Not only is society specifically hostile to breastfeeding, it’s hostile to motherhood in general. There’s no practical and logistical support for mothers, and zero recognition or acknowledgement of how physically, mentally, and emotionally taxing motherhood is as 24/7 work that lasts for years.
All government assistance and the whole court system is geared towards logistical and monetary support for women and specifically mothers with zero recognition of how physically, mentally and emotionally manipulative and taxing women are.
Motherhood is struggling because family/fatherhood is not supported. The former requires the latter. That is why I think there are so many laws protecting women but still so many problems.
1. Some women truly cannot breastfeed.
2. The real problem here is the disgusting monopoly controlling formula production.
Of course “breast is best”, but formula could also be improved.
It feels far too intentional to get people desperately reliant on it (breast milk just dries up, if it isn’t used), and then control production so completely that a shortage is even possible.
Some mothers physically can’t breastfeed,so formula is a boon because a fed child is better than a child whose mother cannot feed them starving to death.
…You can also make your own formula. People used to do it all the time, in cases of adoption or where a mother actually couldn’t breastfeed. Throughout history, we have come up with solutions NOT based on an industrial supply chain. 🙄Weston Price Foundation still publishes several goat’s milk, cow’s milk and organ meat based recipes.
