Twin Towers are aligned with the “U” and “P” in “SUPERTRAMP”. When the image is mirrored, the letters read as “9 11”. Breakfast service and low sun imply this is a morning time scene. A clumsy-looking waitress holds up a glass of orange juice on a tiny, not very stable-looking saucer.
We know she spilled the orange juice.
EDIT: Oh, and how could I forget this picture is being taken from a plane.
Bit of a reach on the 9.
The waitress represents Semiramis, aka, Statue of Liberty.
I see pizza!
The knives and forks are arranged in a sundial or clock formation.
“Breakfast In America” could imply the dawn of a new age in America.
The Twin Towers are the only subject in the photo that haven’t been transformed into some breakfast-related item, which could imply that the towers are part of the meal.
This artwork gives a lot to break down.
i can’t believe I held this record im my hands everyday after the release and never noticed that there are no buildings depicted besides the twin towers… and I consider myself a very visual kind of person… but in those years I focused only on the music… I know that’s no excuse, lol
