California DMV rolls out a "digital driver license" … I cant wait until they embed it on my forehead!

Rejoice you lazy maggots!  The California DMV has taken, as Neil Armstrong once said about the fake moon landing, “one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.”

Very soon, the DMV will roll out a program that will enable people to “download” a digital form of their driver license, right on you phone!  Cool!

From the article:

Apple Wallet support for California digital driver’s licenses and state ID cards is now available, the tech company announced Thursday.

“Californians now have the option of adding their driver’s license or state ID to their iPhone or Apple Watch in Apple Wallet,” Gov. Gavin Newsom said in a statement. “With this new integration, we’re working to better serve the people of California in the 21st century.”

The rollout of digital state driver’s licenses and ID support in Apple Wallet is part of a broader mobile driver’s license (mDL) pilot program launched last year.

The DMV has cautioned that you are still required to carry the handheld one (oh darn, how inconvenient) as of now but if it proves fruitful it will be a valid way to drive a vehicle in the future without the need for the physical one (yay!).

Even better … how long before its embedded on my forehead?  I can’t wait!  We are so super-tech!
