There is a lot symbolism in this series and I encourage VC to do a full article on it because there is a lot to digest in the tv show and I just could care less of this s**t.
The first red flag was watching the characters receive the “chip” so AI’s A.L.I.E. to have “control over their minds” like holy communion. This sent alarms in my mind … AI, the mark of the beast, mocking the holy communion, overpopulation and a cataclismic event to help “solve” it. Its a lot of new world order bullshit.

Gotta have it to have the blasphemous effect in place.
It’s not quite mocking, so much as honoring the ritualistic “holy” communion act, which symbolically expresses the organizational “control over their minds”. Just as the RC church does on any given Sunday to their followers.
