It’s not a fake article, and this story has been a Hollywood rumor from her birth, long before she was famous herself.
My understanding is that she is intersex. Her parents were unsure of what gender she should be presented as, hence the ambiguous name Jamie. As a child she began presenting as female, and it is verified she got breast implants.

Interesting. Wikipedia lists her birthday as Nov. 2nd, 1958. This birth announcement is for a few months later… Those are definitely her parents, though! I’ve always found it odd that she looks nothing like her mother. Wiki lists Janet Lee’s children as Kelly Lee and Jamie Lee, both girls, and they are indeed about 3 years apart, with Jamie being the younger.
Ok, on further research, this IS an accurate birth record and Jamie Lee Curtis was purportedly born a hermaphrodite who was raised as a female. She has 2 adopted daughters, possibly because of her genetic anomaly making her unable to bear children. Some online articles and commenters state that this is “common knowledge” but nothing is mentioned on her Wiki or IMDB pages about any of this.
