I thought this was based off of the anime IP at first. That would be a travesty. I guess this is a public domain Pinocchio type of situation where anyone can use it.

Here’s the closing paragraph in my book, written by Claude AI, for the essay on Lupin the Third.

“Altogether, Lupin III’s staying power and continual reinvention across over 50 years pay respect to its origins while keeping things fresh. Each new outing provides variations on core elements that appeal to old fans and newcomers alike.”

It is one of the oldest high quality adult animation series. Even when they did the CGI version recently they respected the style and essence that has been there since the beginning. Making him black would be such a slap in the face to the hundreds of artists who have respected its roots over the decades.

Netflix gonna Netflix.

Also, when I was in Paris a few years ago I was shocked by how many black Africans were there (mostly selling junk trinkets on the street).

The first line of my comment was that I thought it was based on the anime IP. Obviously I don’t know the fine details of the Netflix version.

It’s not just a detail though.the whole topic is based on this “detail”.lupin isn’t made black.the hero is a fan of lupin, who happens to be black.therefore this toxic has no reason to exist
