I don’t really understand why it’s called humiliation ritual. Imo someone is humiliated when he/she has some sense of dignity ( that is when you have some qualities, virtues. These individuals have none. They just act according to what they are).

I am heartened to see that the vast majority of responses to this post are not buying it as “art” and sound pretty fed up with having this kind of imagery shoved down our throats.
It’s odd that the supporters and fans are automatically making the assumption that “oh he’s making a statement about body image and the pressures of an image-conscious, judgmental culture.” First of all: I see no indication of that, per se. Second: as a they-man, he cannot address this issue even if he wanted to (which, again, I highly doubt) because this is not an issue that men face in this way. He is not, does not look like, and will never be, a woman. He can’t begin to know what that pressure feels like, nor does he in any way represent me, or any woman I know. So this simply cannot be an accurate assumption.
To me, this photo shoot says just the opposite ~ it’s quite insulting to women, on multiple levels. Like, “oh look at me, wearing women’s clothes that actual female models would have to appear flawless in, but I can look like an out-of-shape slob and it’s sooo cool! Also, look, I’m pregnant lulz.” No. Just, no.

If anyone has ever watched talent shows like Britain’s Got Talent or American Idol, Sam Smith is like one of the contestants who people look at and don’t expect much from, one of the auditionees who will be terrible and receive negative feedback, told they have no future as an entertainer. Then they start singing and are really good, taking everybody by surprise as nobody expected it. He has a really good voice, very distinctive, but comes across as very shy and almost introverted. Early in his career he looked like he was modelling clothes for a High Street menswear brand, pretty nondescript. First, he announces he is ‘non binary’. Now this. Poor guy (and he is a guy no matter what he says). He should stick to showcasing his talent but when artists try to exert control over their careers, the industry just destroys them. In a way, he already has been destroyed.
The last picture is specially disgusting. It’s disgusting and repulsive as they say here. 🤢🤮
