Of course NME left out why they Morrissey is shunned by the industry now.
He is ‘intolerant’ for the belief that uncontrolled immigration is destroying England.

Morrissey is far from right, he is a vegan bisexual* that is on the left for everything else.

-may no longer be vegan haven’t kept up with him much in about 10 years
-He has always denied being gay

From the linked article:

“…Morrissey’s last solo album to see the light of day was 2020’s ‘I Am Not a Dog on a Chain’.”

Well, an industry slave IS a dog on a chain. Morrissey may have parted with Capitol Records, but if he wants to continue his cushy fame-and-fortune gig, he’s gonna have to bow down before his new master.

Also, his comments play up the notion that he had no idea what was in the contract he signed. Maybe initially he was clueless, but not after such a long career. He knew that album would be shelved if he nullified the contract. He’s playing the role of “rebel” but it’s still part of the machinated music business drama.
