Can someone please explain why do they specifically use hearts, and not brains, livers, eyes or any other organ?
Brains come apart too easily. I would imagine the heart is due the carryover from the mystery schools (Egyptian left it in mummies), the association of the heart in numerous places with love, and the Biblical references to the heart.
It could be because most cultures believe in life the heart is where the soul resides.
Hearts would make sense specifically as part of a blood sacrifice, since the heart pumps the blood. Demons seem to demand blood over all things.
I have read that there are occult goings on all over the New Forest area and have been for a long time. I read a fictional book once based on the killing of William Rufus, one of the sons of William the Conqueror, which happened there. The writer postulated that it was an ancient solar king pagan sacrifice, royal blood sacrificed to renew the earth. It’s always about blood somehow.
