Only liberals would think of bankrupting the city over something that happened to someone’s great great great great great great great grandparents. No one who owned slaves or who was a slave has been alive for hundreds of years. What black people do with their lives today is what matters. Looking backwards never helped anyone.
Sure bankrupt the city over something that is no longer happening in the world. The slave trade was wrong, no doubt. But bear in mind there have always been slaves of every race. In recent history, the Jews were essentially slaves of the Nazis. Yet we don’t see them constantly being encouraged to look backwards and demand to be repaid for the atrocities their ancestors suffered. Why are these liberals always trying to stir up the pot and incite hatred and a victim mentality?
As they say, the best revenge is living well. Why can’t they preach that message instead?
