Is this the one he adopted and has been common knowledge for about 50 years or another?
Yep. Everyone has known about this. Honestly, I feel like this is a waste of time. No doubt, the guy is a creep and probably has done way more things that we have not heard about. But this was so long ago and there should be a statute of limitations for this stuff. She should go sue her own parents for allowing him to be her guardian. The parents failed her. Also for all these past 50 years, she never did anything about it and now all of a sudden for whatever reason, maybe she’s broke, now she’s doing it. The judge should ask her, why now?
She has filed the lawsuit just before the statute of limitations is over.

Is it possible? Absolutely! An elderly woman reporting it is ridiculous.
I think it’s terribly sad because it shows three things clearly: 1) she has never healed 2) she has never spiritually grown 3) she has never forgiven, and how we forgive is directly tied to how we will be forgiven. And she has had blind people “helping” and advising her.
Very callous in the comments section here!
Part of Julia’s testimony is that Steven Tyler convinced her to become pregnant and then severely pressured her to have an abortion. I also recall her saying she had suspicions Tyler and associates started the fire in the apartment to get rid of her when she was five months pregnant. It was Tyler’s friend who helped her escape the fire and Tyler wasn’t happy to see her alive.
I wouldn’t make assumptions about this case.
Yes, you have a good point. My point was just that it’s been so long. She hasn’t been under his control all these years so why couldn’t she have brought this out sooner? But of course I know that we don’t know every single detail.
Thank you, KatB.
When trauma is involved, especially severe trauma, remembering and piecing together the details can require an extended period of time. I know my Mom was amnesiac to some parts of her life until her sixties. I think that’s why the statute of limitations is so long.
Personally, I didn’t get an attention-seeking vibe from Julia’s testimony. She seemed like she was telling her story out loud as a step forward in healing. Since Tyler publicly described Julia in his book as a delicious sexual conquest, I think it’s fair she gave her testimony on video to the world. A testimony that using vulnerable teenagers for sex isn’t super-cool as Tyler described, but rather is predatory, shallow, and harmful.
