This is not necessarily racist and no i am not a defender of Rotten Tomatoes…He obviously meant that if some movie (story, book, videogame) is set on and about the certain culture or group of people, the different group reviewing it may not understand some aspects typical for that group unless there is somebody from the group which is the movie (book, etc…) about, who will explain that specific aspects. For instance, if you are white and want to fully understand the meaning of some lyrics of some gangsta rap song, you just ask your Black friend to “decipher” it. Now i’m not saying that all Blacks listen to gangsta rap and all whites don’t understand ebonics, i’m just using common sense.

Yeah. And all Latinos, Asians and African Americans need to have whites accompany them everywhere to explain the nuances of our European culture. If a white person produces something, no non white can properly appreciate it without a white person explaining it to them.

Furthermore, anytime a non white person wears or uses anything that originated in a European culture, they are guilty of cultural appropriation, which is racist and offensive.

You do realize that you’re an absurd racist, don’t you? Star Wars was conceived by George Lucas, who is white. The Star Wars universe has *nothing immediately to do with Latino culture* which isn’t even non white, since many Latinos are descended predominately from Europeans, and are themselves white.

Keep being a racist scumbag. Pretty soon you’ll have some serious “white” indentitarian blowback to deal with, when people get rightly fed up with your asinine bullcrap bigotry.

Just to be utterly clear: the first two paragraphs in my prior comment are written ironically. Irony seems to beyond many people these days, so I just want that to be explicitly clear.

Pretty amusing to get ratio’d so hard on something so basic. If my opinion here really is this unpopular, we are completely screwed. This patronizing, dehumanizing racist SJW madness will lead to war.. Which is exactly the reason it is being pushed by the “elite.” They foment division, they want us to hate and kill one another.

If you really think the ability to appreciate and understand a particular culture is based on racial or ethnic identity, and that “white” people or anyone else of any racial or ethnic group need to be patronized in racist fashion in order to “educate” them.. Well, you’re a bigot and a tool.

There are a whole bunch of people of every race, people like me, who aren’t going to put up with your patronizing ethnocentrism and racism. This is an essential issue of human dignity and basic civil rights that will not be compromised on. Be forewarned, adapt your behavior accordingly.

Mate, i agree with your points basically and how the hell is that there are nearly one hundred downvotes of the comments? This article we are debating over has barely 10 readers a day me and you included, this must be either some algorithm error or bots activity, honestly i have never seen something like this, what’s up with the admin of this site?

Understood. Why don’t we take a moment to steer the conversation to something much more pleasant?

How do you feel about My Little Pony? Despite what others have said about the fandom, I find it very welcoming and open.

As for you, absurd tool pretending to be me, the moderators here should know that you’re not, assuming that you aren’t the All Seeing Eye in Langley or Cupertino, or where ever you plush toy humping dipshits skulk and seethe.

Zyklon, thanks for your kind reply. I flew off the handle there a bit, I’m sorry I was so acerbic. My tolerance for racist bigotry is running very thin. I shouldn’t have been so sharp in my response to you. I’m sorry.

This is how stupid we’ve become. That we can’t decipher s**t on our own. I grew up with hip hop in the 80s and 90s but that doesn’t mean I need a white guy to explain to me heavy metal or glam rock.

Unfortunately, some people do not connect outside their cultural circle. And that’s okay. A little travel, reading and immersing yourself in culture will fix it.

Sometimes a movie is geared toward a certain culture meant for that culture. Why would someone want to see a movie that you can’t connect with?

For example, Black Panther, the movie for the African American culture to cheer on black culture and Africanism. Why me, a Hispanic man, would want to go see that? Just like a black man or woman would not want to see a biopic of Emiliano Zapata or the story of Vicente Fernandez. Gimme a break.

All movies and stories should be universal and for all to consume. Like 12 years a slave, I was not a slave buts its history and I can witness it and connect with it.

I can’t stand these woke cultural cheerleading movies coming out like Wakanda Forever or Till where instead of getting a history lesson, you’re getting black pride s**t.

Go ahead and thumb me down, its the truth. I am tired of all this prideful stuff, it’s Un-Godly and downright arrogant.
