What’s also pretty dystopian about this article is that it actually hints at the fact that this actor was installed and not elected president. The journalist mentions a discussion between Zelenskyy and Alexander Rodnyansky (film and tv producer “who has known Zelenskyy for years and whose son is an economic adviser in his government”):
“Rodnyansky recalls talking to Zelenskyy just before he won. <> That’s what he said to me. I was laughing.”
So the former actor was talking as if becoming a president was a contract, as if he was not really into it, still hoping to go back to acting, as if he accepted that term to please someone else…
At the same time, his wife is also quoted saying that she did not want him to run for office: “When Zelenskyy decided to run for office, Zelenska was upset. <>”
Why would it be an important step for him if he wanted to go back to acting/producing as soon as the term would be over? How would that help him back in his career? I understand that it would be important for a full-scale politician, but why would it be an important step for an actor? Maybe because the because decision to run for office didn’t belong to him and he was just executing a contract?
He’s young so they are grooming him for the world stage . Giving him world cred with this war . So plan on seeing him for a few decades….or not
