Bezos, Gates back fake meat and dairy made from fungus as next big alt-protein (www.cnbc.com)

“Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates back Nature’s Fynd, an alt-meat company whose fungus-based breakfast patties, nuggets and cream cheese are headed to grocery stores.”

It looks so unnatural & unappealing!

What do you think?

I am venturing into News of the Weird territory here but some people think that fungi have their own kind of hive intelligence and are used in mind control. And this is just more processed food.

That’s…a very nice thought…🤢
We’re very particular about our dairy. Gas prices and all, we drive to a rotating selection of small farms to get raw milk. Only one was a licensed commercial dairy, and that farmer mentioned that cost of quality testing was going up & requirements getting more stringent (in a pro-food freedom state.) Never mind grain shortages, and in my area, the best hay goes overseas for export. Raw milk is getting harder to find in stores as dairies stop distributing farther from home due to gas prices.
It won’t be long before this kind of garbage is what’s available, unless you make provisions for yourself.

It’s like that fungi that can penetrate an ants exoskeleton then control it’s mind. There have been cases where entire ant colonies become basically zombie colonies. All the ants are dead but still walking around because the fungi controlling it’s mind. Wouldn’t doubt one bit that they can create something like this for humans if it doesn’t already exist in nature already.I know there are parasites like Gondii and certain tapeworm larvae can “control” a humans mind out there.

I read about a cat parasite, Toxoplasma gondii, that can supposedly affect personality changes in people exposed to it.

“fungi have their own kind of hive intelligence”

Mycellium networks look very much like the neural networks that current AI is based off of. One “hivemind” can be many miles long and intertwined with many trees.

Tons of different mushrooms are medicinal.

I’ve communicated with “the mushroom spirits” through psilocybin mushrooms.

I’m all for the idea of eating mushrooms instead of torturing the animals. If you have Jesus as your avatar and don’t care about all that suffering, something is wrong with you. Plus, I think the mushrooms might actually want to be eaten.

“this is just more processed food”

No, mushrooms are cheap and healthy to make in large quantities. We should definitely explore this technology. More options is a good thing.

Hey I’m all for mushroom-eating but this has nothing to do with mushrooms, it’s just dead processed food with a plethora of additives. This is not real food. I would choose a good old cheese made with raw milk from the farm over this any day.
Plus, it’s pushed by the enemies of Mankind.

Oh ya I’m sure they are both going to be eating this fungus meat right along with us. Not! Economist and numerous international publications have been pushing for us to start eating insects as well. There’s a very real chance cows, chickens, pigs etc will go extinct or be only for the richest elite to consume. The amount of articles with propaganda to why bugs are so nutritious, delicious and “sustainable” is crazy!

This is made out of a type of Fusarium which is the same genus that Quorn is made out of – which has been selling here in the UK for decades. So not exactly a new or ground breaking development. They have just found a different species of Fusarium to work with.
