Vigilant Links has been online for nearly five months and it is already full of great content and interesting discussions. Of course, there is always room for improvement and there might be issues that I’m not aware of.
Did you encounter annoying bugs or issues on the site? Have ideas on how to make it better? Please discuss here!
I would say my issue is with the structure of comment section. You are unable to edit them and the reply section only can include one comment so the other reply’s look like main comments.
What do you mean by “reply section only can include one comment”? I’ve checked other threads and I see multiple replies to comments.
You can only reply to a commenter’s first comment.
I don’t comment a whole lot but I like the format.

I was also gonna mention frenchtoast’s point. I replied to a comment on one of my posts yesterday, and the way it’s displayed you can’t tell who the reply is addressing.
Seems like the comments system has several issues. I’ll definitely look into implementing something better.
Too many music album covers. There are infinitely many of them, and why should just an old picture interest us?
We may receive notifications for comments on our article and replies to our comments.
Yes. I have to keep returning and scrolling to find new replies. That’s it though. I like how the format is spaced out and easy to read.

Hi, VC! I sent some links at the very beginning of a band with one-eye merchandise and never saw it posted. I wasn’t sure if there was a way to see what is in a queue, approved or not, etc., on the logged-in user end. Other than that, I really enjoy this feed and am grateful you started it!
Agreed, I tried to post a few things that I was pretty sure were relevant that never got posted. It’s not like there is an overwhelming amount of new links posted every day, I would like to see more. Didn’t sit well with me as it felt like censorship
If a post is not published, it is most likely due to the fact that it does not follow posting guidelines. Please review them before posting. This site is not in the business of censoring ideas. In fact, it was created in reaction to other sites censoring everything that has to do with truth-seeking. However, there are guidelines to maintain a certain level of quality and credibility to the site. Otherwise, it would be overrun with spammy, low-quality posts.

To me,everything is good so far. The moderation seems pretty spot on. None of the content has been too batshit crazy, and the comments have been relatively sane, especially for such an open commenting platform. I donated to VC right before VigilantLinks opened, and I feel that my donation has been put to good use. I will be donating again in the near future. Keep up the good work.

The most recent change is great. I think more posters have to add a little bit more information but that’s outside of your control. Other wise it’s been good especially having others contribute. Not everything is great quality but the main thing is awareness.
I seem to be able to upvote the same article everytime I visit the website. Do the votes disappear when I leave or am I cheating the system?! I click it again in case it’s the former, or course 😅

Awesome site been a constant visitor to main site since the beginning. Perhaps you could fix it so when you click the center link it’s more of a direct link instead of having to do it again.

VC has opened my eyes
I check VL everyday. The series from 444… is an unexpected gem and it’s just interesting to see what pops up. Not everything is golden, but it’s definitely a fun stop during my day.
