Theres a big difference between thinking you are handsome and brilliant and demanding others refer to you as such. Most of the time when a trans person asks you to refer to them as their pronouns it’s a matter of respect and politeness. If you don’t oersonally want to be polite, then don’t but stop crying about how being rude makes others call you a bigot. Nobody is right about this. You dont get to force others to call you something they don’t want to call you. And the other person is a baby for being upset that he cant go around being an asshole to people.

It is definitely not impolite to disagree with what someone thinks he/she is, such as a man believing he is a woman, and refusing to participate in a clearly delusional and unhealthy mindset. Now there definitely is an impolite way to treat these people, but it is really manipulative to say that it is rude of someone to not reinforce something that is clearly absurd. And this is the type of anti-intellectual bs that annoys rational people, when instead of engaging in intellectual discussion and being fine with disagreement, these people most often get emotional and start labeling everyone a bigot or a “transphobe” for not conforming to irrational beliefs.

So it would not be rude if I told you that you were in fact a woman? It would not be rude if I continued to do so even after you politely ask me to stop? It would not be rude of me to call you an idiot, mentally damaged, sinful to deny that i am right about calling you a woman? And it would not be rude at all, and would certainly never affect your emotions if most of the world also did this to you every day?

It’s a mental illness called Gender Identity Dysmorphia. How about instead of encouraging others mental illness we actually put some money into research to help these people. Before all this lunacy GID was a rare natural occurrence, now children are wearing it like a badge of honor. Propagating mental illness causing a more ill society is not ok, is criminal.

I agree, Kris. I believe in a recent study it’s been labeled as Rapid Onset Gender Dysphoria in recent cases where it has skyrocketed among tween/teenage girls. The study helps explain how this phenomenon grew due to “social contagion”.

Children will expirement with anything counter culture. It’s human nature. Before this the kids wanted to be bisexual. Before that they wanted to be goth or punk. It happens.

Most people who are trans show notably better quality of life and happiness after social and/or medical transition. The rapid onset gd and cases of people who regret transition are fringe cases. And yes, i am very well versed in the studies. Anyway if you really cared about mental illness then this site would be more focused on how to get free health care and mental health services to those who were negatively affected throughout quarantine. Pool your efforts into that instead.
