I was wondering why this variant was named omicron. I thought they were using the Greek alphabet in order. And I’ve wondered from the beginning why we heard nothing about Alpha, beta, gamma strains and skipped right to delta. Now they’ve skipped again to omicron, why? Who came up with these names and why and why skip?
